Artists & Galleries Thrive in Mineral Point
1940 marked the beginning of Mineral Point’s rebirth as an artists’ community when well-known artists Max and Ava Fernekes moved to town. After their arrival artisans from all over the country began to settle here. The distinctive Cornish stone architecture and the spectacular rolling hills that surround it seemed to make the town an ideal place for artists to work.

Now over 30 artists call Mineral Point their home and thousands of visitors come each year to see them at work. Mineral Point is home to 20 working studios and gallleries. One of the features that makes Mineral Point a unique destination is that many of the artists produce and sell all of their work here. This makes Mineral Point a popular destination for unique artwork. Visitors are delighted to find treasures in Mineral Point that can be found nowhere else.
